This is the total so far this year, as HIF Global announced the fourth commercial shipment from the plant located in Punta Arenas, in the Magallanes region. It is 20,000 liters of synthetic gasoline destined for Hamburg.
HIF Global has announced its fourth commercial shipment this year, this time to Hamburg, Germany, from the Haru Oni ??plant in Punta Arenas, Magallanes region, the first green hydrogen-based e-fuel plant in Chile.
This export volume amounts to 20,000 litres of green petrol, which will be used at Porsche events and experience centres during the first half of next year.
As explained in a statement, since the start of operations, the company has exported 100,000 liters to Europe and the United States, which have been used in various Porsche events, such as the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, which toured Europe with 32 cars charged with e-Fuels, and the Concours dElegance 2024, in Pebble Beach (California), where classic Porsche cars used the green fuel.
Haru Oni ??was inaugurated in December 2022 , a project in which Porsche is participating, together with Enel Green Power Chile, the local electricity company AME, the state-owned ENAP and Siemens Energy.
The plan is to expand the capacity to 55 million litres per year by 2025, followed by a capacity of 550 million litres two years later.
The partnership, called HIF (Highly Innovative Fuels) , is driving the Haru Oni ??plant to produce synthetic fuels from green hydrogen combined with CO2 captured from the atmosphere.
Haru Oni ??uses wind power from a 3.4 MW turbine to initially produce green hydrogen, with a 13 kV backup transmission line.
The plant, which has an estimated useful life of 25 years, is located on an area of ??approximately 3.7 hectares, within the Tehuel Aike property, in Punta Arenas, while the project will occupy a total of 5.7 hectares. |
