Power Construction Corporation of China (PowerChina) will provide a photovoltaic plant of around 60 kW for self-consumption of the ministerial building.
Power Construction Corporation of China (PowerChina) has announced the donation of a 60 kW solar system for self-consumption to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock of Ecuador (MAG)
According to a statement from PowerChina, "this donation is the result of a project between both parties to implement a photovoltaic plant at the headquarters of the ministry, in the capital Quito, in order to renew the use of renewable technology and achieve energy efficiency."
In the context of the electricity crisis that the country is experiencing, and in which a law has recently been enacted to try to address it , the delivery of the donation in a symbolic act took on a particular tone.
This was reflected when the MAGs Vice Minister of Rural Development, Marco Oviedo, highlighted that PowerChinas support comes at a time when Ecuador is facing a serious electricity crisis caused by drought, since the local energy matrix depends on 72 percent of water.
"Although this photovoltaic project is not very large, we want to take the initiative to make known our knowledge regarding energy in order to promote the advancement and diversification of energy in Ecuador," explained the president of PowerChina regarding the donation of the solar panel to MAG. |
