Work Detail |
The work, commissioned by energy expert DNV, focuses on three areas: forecasting EV adoption, implementing charging infrastructure and assessing the EV manufacturing cluster.
DNV, the independent energy expert and assurance provider, has released a set of policy guidance and recommendations to support the expansion of electric vehicles (EVs) in the city of Buenos Aires, capital of Argentina, commissioned by the World Bank Group.
The set of three comprehensive reports covers EV adoption, charging infrastructure implementation and manufacturing assessment, and aims to facilitate the transition to sustainable, low-carbon mobility in Argentina’s capital.
The work compares Buenos Aires with five other cities, and involves the development of plausible scenarios up to 2050.
Regarding charging infrastructure, policy recommendations are provided for the deployment of vehicle charging infrastructure, considering aspects such as energy supply, the roles of the public and private sectors, regulations, and implications for urban public space.
For the evaluation of the EV manufacturing cluster, the exploration focused on the citys potential for development, with a focus on small and medium-sized producers of light electric vehicles and vehicle modernization.
To produce the reports, DNV has partnered with Cenex (Center of Excellence for low-carbon and fuel cell technologies) and CIECTI (Interdisciplinary Center for Studies in Science, Technology and Innovation), in addition to receiving technical assistance from the Government of the City of Buenos Aires. |
