Yingli Solar has launched its “Global Techspark Workshops” in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with the theme “Powering the Future.” This event marks the beginning of Yingli Solar’s global initiative to refresh its brand and upgrade its technology. The event also signals the company’s intention to accelerate its presence in both the Malaysian and broader Southeast Asian markets.
The workshop attracted a diverse group of attendees, including local professionals from the photovoltaic (PV) industry, researchers, PV project owners, and partners from across the entire industry supply chain. Discussions at the event focused on the energy transition in Southeast Asia, alongside advancements in PV technology and product development.
Allen Geng, Managing Director of International Sales at Yingli Solar, opened his speech by extending a warm welcome to all attendees and expressing gratitude for their participation. He highlighted Malaysia’s significant potential for growth in the photovoltaic (PV) power generation sector and reaffirmed Yingli Solar’s commitment to maintaining high-quality standards and its long-term goal of being a global leader in the PV industry. Yingli Solar has been active in Malaysia since 2013 and has continuously contributed to various projects in the region. According to Geng, the company is eager to collaborate with partners to expand market opportunities and accelerate Malaysia’s energy transition.
Following Geng’s remarks, Afzanil Bin Md. Anuar, Deputy Director of the Green Technology Division at the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), took the stage to deliver a presentation titled “Driving Malaysia’s Energy Transition Through Green Technology Investments.” Anuar discussed Malaysia’s national energy transformation plan, outlined investment opportunities, and explored the pathways for implementing green technologies in the country’s development.
Tommy Zheng, Product Manager at Yingli Solar, shared his insights on emerging technology trends and discussed the reliability of Yingli Solar’s products. He emphasized that Yingli Solar is among the first global PV companies to mass-produce N-type solar cells and panels. Through ongoing technological advancements, the company’s Panda N-type products deliver exceptional low-light performance, high bifaciality, superior weather resistance, and optimal efficiency and reliability. These attributes make the products particularly well-suited to withstand the tropical climates, high humidity, and frequent typhoons common in Southeast Asia.
In the event’s closing session, Nicholas Kee, Regional Sales Director for Southeast Asia at Yingli Solar, provided an overview of regional trends and potential challenges. He also outlined Yingli Solar’s long-term strategy for expanding its presence in the Malaysian market and unveiled growth strategies and local incentives, which captured the attention of participants. With its abundant solar resources, Malaysia presents strong potential for photovoltaic (PV) development. The event marked the official launch of Yingli Solar’s global brand refresh and technology upgrade, positioning the company to further strengthen its market presence. |
