During the ceremony, the Minister unveiled Samathvam, a coffee table book that highlights NTPC’s journey over five decades. The book, named after the Sanskrit word for equanimity and balance, chronicles NTPC’s transformation from a single thermal power plant to India’s largest integrated power utility. It celebrates NTPC’s role in energy security, environmental sustainability, innovation, community empowerment, and biodiversity.
Shri Manohar Lal praised NTPC for its innovative efforts, particularly in biomass co-firing and municipal solid waste management, which have directly benefited society.
In his address, Shri Pankaj Agarwal emphasized NTPC’s impeccable project execution capabilities, which have earned the organization trust, enabling it to expand into the nuclear sector.
Shri Gurdeep Singh, CMD of NTPC, reflected on the company’s consistent commitment to providing reliable, affordable, and sustainable power. He highlighted NTPC’s recent achievement in carbon management, the successful synthesis of CO2 captured from flue gas with hydrogen, which was converted into methanol at the Vindhyachal plant. This groundbreaking project marks the world’s first CO2 capture and conversion into methanol plant.
The event was attended by NTPC’s Board of Directors, senior officials, retired employees, and their families. |
