The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has successfully implemented the Special Campaign 4.0, launched by the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG). This initiative, running from October 2 to October 31, 2024, focuses on improving cleanliness and reducing pendency in government offices. The campaign aimed to institutionalize cleanliness (Swachhata) and streamline processes within the ministry and its associated organizations, including the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA), Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd. (SECI), and several autonomous institutes such as the National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE), the National Institute of Wind Energy (NIWE), and the Sardar Swaran Singh National Institute of Bio Energy (SSS-NIBE).
As part of the campaign, training sessions were held to cover essential topics such as record management, VIP references, and guidelines from the Central Secretariat Manual of Office Procedure (CSMoP). These sessions took place at various locations, including Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan in New Delhi on September 26, 2024, the NISE campus in Gurugram on October 10, 2024, the NIWE campus in Chennai on October 14, 2024, and the NIBE campus in Kapurthala on October 17, 2024.
The focus of the campaign was on maintaining office cleanliness, reviewing old records, and properly disposing of outdated stationery, files, and other materials. Key administrative tasks, such as handling references from Members of Parliament (MPs), parliamentary assurances, public grievances, and PMO references, were also prioritized. Additionally, efforts were made to improve record management practices, ease rules and processes, and create more space in the office.
The campaign saw significant achievements during its implementation phase, running from October 2 to October 31, 2024. Notably, 100% of the targets were achieved in several categories, including addressing references from MPs, state governments, and public grievances, as well as responding to PMO references and public grievance appeals. Both physical and electronic files were reviewed, with a total of 1631 physical files and 581 e-files being evaluated.
The campaign also led to the generation of Rs. 4,60,788 through the disposal of scrap materials. Approximately 800 square feet of office space was cleared by eliminating old files and disposing of scrap, helping to improve the efficiency and cleanliness of the work environment.
Overall, Special Campaign 4.0 has successfully contributed to better office management, record-keeping, and cleanliness within MNRE and its associated institutions. The achievements highlight the government’s ongoing efforts to streamline administrative processes and maintain a clean, organized workplace. |
