Project in Vierlinden is expected to be connected to the grid in late 2025
EnBW has marked the beginning of construction of an 88MW solar project in the municipality of Vierlinden in Germany.
Among those present at the ceremony were Vierlindens mayor Constantin Schutze, representatives of the municipality of Vierlinden and the Seelow-Land office.
The work is scheduled to be completed by the end of next year when the solar park is to be connected to the grid.
It will also include 13.4 megawatt hours (MWh) of battery energy storage systems, to enable the PV generation to feed into the grid more flexibly.
For the construction of the solar park, EnBW carried out a comprehensive explosive ordnance clearance of the area.
The region was affected by heavy fighting during the Battle of the Seelow Heights in April 1945.
In the course of the evacuation, gun emplacements and several tons of ammunition were found, among other things.
Because some grenades and bombs could not be transported, controlled demolitions were carried out. |
