Work Detail Key road projects in Prayagraj, particularly the widening and enhancement of routes leading to Sangam, are on track to finish by November 30 in preparation for the upcoming Maha Kumbh. These improvements aim to facilitate smooth access and create a visually appealing experience for an anticipated 40 crore devotees—nearly double the turnout of the 2019 Kumbh Mela. According to Vivek Chaturvedi, ADM (Kumbh Mela), the Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) and the Cantonment Board are actively working to expand roads connecting the city to Sangam Nose, increasing them to more than twice their previous width. "The successful organization of Maha Kumbh is a top priority for Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath," he added. The widened roads, including Triveni Road, Lal Sadak, Kali Sadak, Naval Rai Road, Kila Ghat Road, and Daraganj Road, will improve capacity for the anticipated influx. Additionally, interlocking footpaths are being installed on both sides of the roads to enhance visitor convenience. Major thoroughfares such as Triveni Road and the River Front Road in Daraganj are also close to completion, providing vital links from Prayagraj Junction to Sangam. The project is a collaborative effort with the PDA and the Cantonment Board. To aid visitors, hoardings and signboards with directions and major sightseeing locations will be placed along key routes, and information centers will be set up at strategic points throughout the area.
