Work Detail | A US$3.2 billion expressway project is being planned for Thailand. The 72km expressway will provide a connection between Highway 35 (Rama II Road) in Samut Sakhon with Highway 34 (Bang Na-Trat Road) in Bang Phli District of Samut Prakan. The new expressway route will reduce congestion in the area to the south of Thailand’s notoriously traffic-choked capital Bangkok, improving journey times for drivers. The expressway plan is being managed by the Expressway Authority of Thailand (Exat) and is titled the Samut Sakhon-Samut Prakan Riviera Project. This project forms part of the Motorway and Railway Master Plan (MR-Map) being managed by the Department of Highways (DoH). A feasibility study will be carried out between 2026 and 2027 and should take up to two years to complete. |
