The Roads Department announced this Sunday that the call for tenders for various works on access roads and main routes in the province of Mendoza has been made. In fact, it is an investment of more than $2,000 million that will be allocated not only to said works, but also to the repair of almost twenty bridges.
These works do not include the bridges on National Route 40 because both belong to the National Highway Department, which is the department responsible for making them operational again.
With a total budget of $2,152,148,000, the DPV will undertake the road demarcation of the Costanera (Avenida Gobernador Videla), from the Rotonda del Avión to National Route 40; the Rodríguez Peña lane, from National Route 40 to National Route 7 and various sections of provincial routes 50 and 60 that connect Greater Mendoza with the eastern part of the province.
The demarcation works consist of painting on the asphalt the continuous and broken white lateral and central lines, the yellow lines and double central lines, the pedestrian paths where appropriate, the maximum speeds, the warnings of dangerous curves, railroad crossings, bridges, exits and the separation of the traffic lanes.
Public works: around twenty bridges in the province of Mendoza will be repaired
The total amount indicated also includes the repair of almost twenty provincial bridges whose joints will be replaced.
As Vialidad Mendoza did last year with another twenty bridges throughout the province, this year it will intervene in another similar number to install a new system, known as Tormack joints, which guarantee safe transit and extend the useful life of the structures.
This time, most of the bridges to be worked on are located in the Uco Valley and Las Heras - which are important for production and tourism - and in other parts of the province. Tormack joints are a system of elastic joints that compensate for the transition between the deck of a bridge, which is rigid, and the roadway, which is flexible, allowing for more fluid traffic and avoiding breakages.
Budget details:
The various calls for tenders provide for a budget of $1,048,007,000 for the end-to-end marking of the Costanera and the Carril Rodríguez Peña, with a 60-day execution period; $577,713,000 for the road marking of provincial routes 50 and 60, which will not be painted in their entirety but only in sectors where markings are being requested. The specified execution period is also 60 days.
As for repairs and maintenance, the estimated budget is $526,428,000 with a three-month execution period. |
