Autopistas Urbanas SA has called for tenders to build a pedestrian underpass in the Villa Pueyrredón neighbourhood. The project aims to improve the accessibility and connectivity of the sector with the surroundings, promoting urban integration in the area and providing new green spaces.
The state-owned company Autopistas Urbanas SA (AUSA) has called for a public tender to build a pedestrian underpass on Fomentista Avenue and the Mitre railway tracks, in the Villa Pueyrredón neighbourhood, reports Saavedra Online.
In September, the Buenos Aires Legislature had approved a bill that enabled the Executive Branch to obtain financing of up to USD 75,000,000 to build several projects: the Parque Dellepiane Highway, the intervention in the Bosch Bridge and the García Lorca, Irigoyen, Marcos Sastre -Empedrado and Peatonal Del Fomentista Underpasses.
In early July, AUSA officials explained the project to legislators of the Budget and Finance, Financial Administration and Tax Policy Commission of the Buenos Aires Legislature.
Through a document that presented the preliminary project, information was provided on the work planned for Villa Pueyrredón: “Project Location: It is located in the Villa Pueyrredón neighborhood, within Commune 12, at the junction of Avenida del Fomentista and the FC Mitre JL Suarez tracks. At the site, there is a vehicular and pedestrian underpass (PBN) that is insufficient for the avenue since this passage allows only one direction per traffic light time (one lane).”
“The project aims to improve the accessibility and connectivity of the sector with the surroundings, promoting the urban integration of the area and providing new green and rest spaces for the residents of the Villa Pueyrredón neighborhood. Likewise, it aims to promote pedestrian circulation and active mobility in a safer and more comfortable way for the user, given that the new passage has larger dimensions for this type of circulation than the existing PBN and is completely separated from the vehicular flow. This will mean that the vehicular PBN will do without its pedestrian sidewalk and widen its roadway, allowing the flow of vehicles in both directions simultaneously. Project surface: The intervention will be carried out in an area of ??approximately 1,500 m2, of which only 500 m2 will correspond to the new pedestrian PBN to be executed,” it was added. |
