Danish offshore shipping player Esvagt has named Kristian Jakobsen and Søren Karas to jointly head up the company as chief executive Peter Lytzen retires from the role.
Jakobsen has been promoted from the deputy CEO role he has held since 2018, while Karas steps up from the position of chief strategy and commercial officer after about seven years on the job.
Established in 1981, the Esbjerg-based company has a fleet of more than 40 vessels working in the offshore wind and oil and gas sectors.
“We have strong CEO successors within Esvagt in Kristian and Søren who know the business well and are advocates of our values and culture. The shared CEO role has a great fit with our strategy and operating model and will help us drive further growth through our offshore service solutions,” said Jakob Thomasen, chair of Esvagt.
The outgoing CEO Lytzen, who has been at the helm since September 2018, added: “My time at Esvagt has been a tremendous journey but everything has its time. I have concluded this is right time to retire and I am delighted that my colleagues Kristian and Søren have accepted to take over the helm.” |
