Work Detail |
Danish offshore wind developer Ørsted has awarded a deal to Hyosung Heavy Industries for the supply of ultra-high voltage power equipment for the Hornsea 4 project.
Hyosung Heavy will supply, install, and commission 400kV transformers and reactors to offshore and onshore substations at Hornsea 4. The contract is worth 291.2 billion won ($211.2m).
The deal is still subject to the project reaching FID. Ørsted expects to reach that milestone in around 18 months. The site is scheduled for commissioning in 2030.
Hornsea 4 is an offshore wind farm which Ørsted is proposing to develop in the North Sea, approximately 69 km off the Yorkshire Coast. The project will have 2.6GW of capacity, produced by 180 turbines. The project received consent in 2023 and was given a contract for difference in September. |
