Work Detail Ginlong (Solis) Technologies, a leading global manufacturer of PV string inverters, announces the expansion of its smart battery charging and discharging solutions to customers in 14 countries across Europe. The move demonstrates Solis’ ongoing commitment to advancing its SolisCloud monitoring software alongside its world-class hybrid inverter technology. Solis leverages data from third-party electricity trading platforms, such as Nordpool, to forecast day-ahead prices and provide precise hourly pricing for different regions and countries. Depending on the inverter model, customers can set up to 12 time periods for charging and discharging, automatically drawing energy into their batteries when prices are lowest — allowing them to tap into savings without lifting a finger. Households and businesses across Europe benefit from energy storage systems but face fluctuating electricity prices throughout the day, limiting potential savings. With Solis’ latest software advancements and electricity prices integrated into SolisCloud, customers can optimize their Solis energy storage systems to charge batteries when electricity prices are low and discharge back to the grid when prices are high. This smart functionality reduces overall electricity costs and maximizes savings – with or without solar PV installed. Key Features: ? Time-of-Use Electricity Pricing: SolisCloud retrieves day-ahead prices from platforms such as Nordpool and Octopus, allowing customers to know when electricity prices will be high or low. ? Charging & Discharging Strategies: Charges batteries during low-price periods, reducing costs, and discharges batteries during high-price periods, maximizing savings or earnings. ? Intelligent Control “Dynamic Charging”: SolisCloud automatically manages charging and discharging behaviours based on real-time data, user demand, and predicted electricity consumption patterns. Travis Synder, Product Manager at Solis, commented: “We are thrilled to expand our partner integrations with key utility providers and software integrators throughout Europe. Our hybrid inverters are compatible with battery models from global brands, giving installers and system owners complete flexibility in designing a system that fits their individual needs & energy consumption profile. These recent software developments ensure our end customers are getting the most out of their Solis system, and we are actively working to expand the coverage of this new capability in more countries across Europe. Watch this space! This is just another way Solis is demonstrating our commitment to improving grid stability, fostering sustainable energy & cost-saving solutions, and meeting the evolving needs of our customers.” Countries currently able to benefit from the smart charge/discharge features: United Kingdom, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Denmark, France, Lithuania, Austria, Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, and The Netherlands.
