Work Detail Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and William Osler Health System (Osler) have issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the new Peel Memorial Hospital Phase 2 Redevelopment project. The project will be delivered through IO’s Progressive Design-Build (Target Price) contract model. “The release of this Request for Proposals brings us closer to delivering a facility that will increase capacity and address a significant need for more specialized patient care. We were pleased to see such interest from the market in this project, which we’re delivering using a model that fosters a collaborative approach between all partners. Once complete, the new Peel Memorial Hospital will support a robust and accessible health system for the City of Brampton and the surrounding Peel community,” said Michael Lindsay, president & CEO, Infrastructure Ontario. Teams were shortlisted through a Request for Qualification (RFQ) process that began in May 2024 and are now invited to respond to the RFP. The teams are: Progress Peel Health Solutions Applicant Leads: Amico Design Build Inc. and Sacyr Canada Inc. Design Prime Team Members: Quadrangle Architects Limited, Kasian Architecture Ontario Inc. and WSP Canada Inc. Construction Prime Team Members: Amico Design Build Inc. and Sacyr Canada Inc. Pomerleau Healthcare Partners Applicant Lead: Pomerleau Inc. Design Prime Team Members: NEUF Architects Inc. and Cumulus Architects Inc. Construction Prime Team Member: Pomerleau Inc. EllisDon Corporation Applicant Lead: EllisDon Corporation Design Prime Team Members: Montgomery Sisam Architects Inc. and Kahler Slater Architects Inc. Construction Prime Team Member: EllisDon Corporation Bird Design-Build Construction Inc. Applicant Lead: Bird Design-Build Construction Inc. Design Prime Team Member: CannonDesign Ltd. Construction Prime Team Member: Bird Design-Build Construction Inc. These teams will be preparing proposals that detail how they will deliver the project, these proposals will be evaluated by IO and Osler. “The release of the RFP marks a historic step forward in transforming Peel Memorial into Brampton’s new hospital, significantly expanding health care capacity in our community for generations,” said Pardeep Singh Gill, chair of William Osler Health System’s Board of Directors. “Osler is grateful and fully committed to working with our partners to build the state-of-the-art hospital our community deserves, bringing our bold vision for world-class health care, right here at home, to life.” William Osler Health System’s (Osler) Peel Memorial Hospital Phase 2 Redevelopment project is located in Brampton and will be connected to the existing Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness (Peel Memorial). The new Peel Memorial Phase 2 facility will increase health care capacity in the community and address the significant need for more specialized care for patients requiring longer hospital stays before they can safely return home or to additional care in the community. The new facility will create more services for our fast-growing communities, supporting a robust and accessible local health system. Pre-construction work is actively underway as Osler progresses through the required stages of government approvals, with early construction on the site anticipated to begin in Spring 2025. The final design and construction timeline will be established in partnership with the successful proponent.
