A section of a North Side road is closing for six months as construction begins on a bridge to alleviate flooding problems as part of the West Avenue Low Water Crossing project. The city will close the section of West Avenue on Sept. 12 between West Nakoma Drive and North Loop Road, the city announced Wednesday. The improvements are part of a 2012-17 Bond Program project that will also include new utility lines for water, sewer, gas and telecommunications. Construction for the bond project began in September 2015 and is scheduled for completion by April 2017. |
