The Provincial University of Córdoba announced the opening of a public tender to build its Capilla del Monte Regional Headquarters, with an investment of over 4,000 million pesos. This project promises to boost educational and social development in the region.

At an event held in the Poeta Lugones Room of this town in the northern Punilla Valley, the public tender for the construction of the university building of the Capilla del Monte Regional Headquarters of the Provincial University of Córdoba (UPC) was officially presented. The Rector of the UPC, Esp. Julia Oliva Cúneo, the Mayor Fabricio Díaz, the Director of the Houssay Institute, Cristina Battista, the Coordinator of the UPC Federal Program, Juan Giménez Grella, and the Secretary of Administration and Human Resources of the UPC, Marcelo Cuello, headed the event, underlining the importance of this initiative.

The construction of this building, which represents an investment of $4,071,833,111.47, represents an important advance in the higher education offer in the interior of the province. Mayor Díaz thanked Governor Martín Llaryora for his support and highlighted the importance of the project for more than 200,000 inhabitants of the region, stating that it is “an educational solution for future generations.” In addition, the mayor stressed that the headquarters will promote local development, offering young people a local, quality and free academic alternative.
For her part, the rector Julia Oliva Cúneo described the project as a “dream come true” and praised the joint work with the mayor and the director of the Houssay Institute to define the academic offering. The campus will include new courses such as university teaching in biology and technical courses in graphic design and hospitality, programs that will become bachelor’s degrees in the future, according to Battista, who highlighted the collaboration with the UPC in the creation of this educational proposal.
Meanwhile, the coordinator of the UPC Federal program, Juan Giménez Grella, stressed that access to public information will allow interested companies to learn the details of the project, facilitating their participation in the tender. The Secretary of Administration and Human Resources, Marcelo Cuello, explained that the visit of the bidders will take place on November 8, while the receipt of envelopes is scheduled for November 13, with the start of work estimated for the first days of December.
With this ambitious project, Capilla del Monte is on its way to becoming a benchmark educational centre in the north of Córdoba, opening up new opportunities for young people and adults seeking free, quality higher education in their own environment. |
