Merino opened a tender for more than $ 137 million to rebuild pavement in six neighborhoods: "We are doing it because the residents of Trelew needed it"
In an event that took place this Tuesday in the Historical Hall of the Municipality of Trelew, Mayor Gerardo Merino presided over the opening of envelopes for Public Tender No. 21/2024, which will allocate an official budget of 137,083,961.17 pesos to the reconstruction of the concrete road in the Primera Junta, Constitución, Los Aromos, Oeste, Presidente Perón and Don Bosco neighborhoods.
On Tuesday, the mayor headed the opening of envelopes for Public Tender No. 21/2024, which will allocate more than 137 million pesos to the reconstruction of pavement in six other neighborhoods of the city.
During the event, Mayor Merino highlighted the importance of these works for the community: “I am very grateful for the presence and testimony of the residents of the neighborhoods where we will work, which is very important.” He added: “When there is a municipality that does not provide answers, it is you who have a hard time. That is why it is valuable that you are here and to thank you for the work you do.”
Merino also mentioned that, since his assumption of office, direct contracts, price competitions and public tenders have been carried out, of which 8 are completed, 4 are in progress, 2 are about to start and 2 more will be carried out before the end of the year.
“We have already reached 34 neighborhoods, plus the central area, which is being carried out with the Secretariat of Public Services and Environment. It was a campaign promise and in less than a year we did it and fulfilled it. We are doing it because the residents of Trelew needed it,” he concluded.
Likewise, the Secretary of Planning and Urban Development, Federico Ércoli, stressed: “In this period of difficulties at all levels, continuing to open envelopes to carry out public works is not at all usual. And this is achieved by decision of Mayor Gerardo Merino. It is about using the peoples money for the people.”
The envelopes were opened by engineer Alejandro Ascensio, accompanied by architect Gonzalo Mendoza and Gabriela Romero Cabrera. During the ceremony, the company LAL SA presented a bid of 159,861,332.99 pesos.
DISTRIBUTION
The work includes intervention in a total of 1,083.75 square meters, distributed as follows: 23 m² in Primera Junta, 53.75 m² in Constitución, 441 m² in Los Aromos, 211.50 m² in Oeste, 151 m² in Pte. Perón and 353.50 m² in Don Bosco.
The reconstruction will be carried out with ready-mixed concrete and will include sawing, breaking, debris removal, excavation and replacement of existing soil with better quality soil. The estimated construction time is 90 calendar days.
