Trinasolar Evergreen (Shanghai) PV Tech. Co., Ltd., the building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) unit of Trina Solar, has launched four new products for public, industrial and infrastructure projects. Trina Solar aims to capture a share of the rapidly growing BIPV market.
Trinasolar Evergreen, the BIPV unit of Trina Solar, has launched four new BIPV products targeting public, industrial and infrastructure projects. It unveiled the new solutions at a recent event as Trina Solar is actively targeting a rapidly growing part of the BIPV market.
The new line includes solar tiles for public building roofs, industrial solar walls for factory facades, photovoltaic noise barriers for highway soundproofing, and tinted photovoltaic glass for architectural glass installations. All products incorporate Trina’s tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon) solar cell technology, which achieves up to 21.9% efficiency in some models.
Trinasolar Evergreen said its solar roof tiles offer lightweight, customizable color-coding for public and commercial buildings. It said they meet national fire standards in China and can withstand winds of up to 177 km/h. The tiles, equipped with TOPCon cells, produce up to 209 W per square meter with an efficiency of 19.4%.
The company’s industrial solar walls are designed for factories and warehouses, and incorporate prefabricated, corrosion-resistant aluminum-magnesium steel for durability. TOPCon cells enable the façade to achieve 21.9% efficiency and 219 W per square meter.
Trinasolar Evergreen photovoltaic noise barriers integrate acoustic insulation with solar technology for road infrastructure. Designed for quick installation, the solution reduces noise by 35 dB and offers an efficiency of 18.4% with 184 W per square meter.
Its coloured photovoltaic glass offering is intended for building facades, fences and canopies, and allows architects to choose custom colours and textures. With up to 205 W per square metre, the product meets standards for curtain walls for building facades, according to the company.
Trinasolar Evergreen said it offers a 25-year power warranty for its BIPV products. Solar shingles also have a 10-year product warranty, while colored photovoltaic glass has a five-year warranty. Other products have two-year warranties.
Since 2021, policies by China’s Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the National Energy Administration have accelerated green construction, driven by double-carbon goals. Analysts estimate that China’s 60 billion square meters of building space can accommodate 1,500 GW of PV capacity, with new construction adding 40 GW of potential each year. |
