The tender document for one of the nearly 20 projects announced by Governor Alfredo Cornejo last week has been published, to be financed with part of the 1.023 billion dollars in compensation that Mendoza received for the irregular extension of industrial promotion in the 1990s.
This is the sewage treatment plant that will be built in General Alvear, with an investment of close to 10 million dollars. Specifically, the project is "expansion of the General Alvear treatment plant", in charge of Aysam, with an official budget in pesos of $9,238,025,781 with VAT included.
The call for tenders states that companies or joint ventures interested in taking charge of the work will have until November 20 (in a month) to submit their bids, since that is the date when the envelopes will be opened.
A few days ago, another Aysam project in Guaymallén had already been put out to tender, for around 3 million dollars for the optimisation of the “Gran Mendoza-Terraza Las Cañas Distribution System”.
As Cornejo has repeated since he took office as governor, all works financed with the repair of the industrial development must have a kind of "repayment." In the case of Aysam projects, such as the one to be carried out in Alvear, this "return" will arise from an extra that will be charged on the bills of all users in the province.

This item, which will appear on the invoices of Aysam and other providers, will serve not only as repayment for the Alvear sewage treatment plant, but also for all water and sanitation works carried out in Mendoza with the funds that were originally going to be allocated to Portezuelo del Viento.
