In a significant step towards bolstering local development efforts, Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology (MMMUT) in Gorakhpur and the Gorakhpur Municipal Corporation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Wednesday. This agreement is designed to promote collaboration on various construction and development projects overseen by the Municipal Corporation.
The MoU was signed by Gorakhpur Mayor Manglesh Srivastava, MMMUT Vice-Chancellor Prof. J.P. Saini, and Municipal Commissioner Gaurav Singh Sogarwal. Under the terms of the agreement, MMMUT experts will provide technical guidance to ensure the quality, safety, and timely progress of municipal projects. Their role includes verifying the quality of materials, inspecting construction sites, and advising on structural design and safety standards. A multidisciplinary team of specialists from civil, mechanical, electrical, and environmental engineering will spearhead these initiatives, with a structural engineering professor overseeing the team.
Mayor Srivastava acknowledged MMMUTs longstanding contributions to regional development and expressed enthusiasm for the universitys active participation in enhancing local infrastructure. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Saini reiterated the universitys mission as a technical resource for the state, emphasizing that this partnership aligns with that vision. Municipal Commissioner Sogarwal added that the technical expertise of MMMUT would be a valuable asset for the corporation.
Additionally, discussions were held regarding potential internship opportunities for students from the civil, electrical, and IT departments at the Municipal Corporation, further strengthening the ties between the university and local governance. |
