Trinasolar, a global leader in smart PV and energy storage solutions, is poised to make a significant impact at All Energy 2024, Australia’s largest clean energy event, by unveiling its green hydrogen technology for the first time in Australia. This groundbreaking innovation further strengthens the multi-award-winning manufacturer’s position as a total solutions provider, complementing its existing portfolio of solar modules, trackers, and battery energy storage systems in Australia.
With multiple operations in China already utilising the Trina Green Hydrogen products, the company plans to bring this industry-leading technology to Australia and is excited to unveil another of its best-in-class clean energy solutions. “With the recent release of Australia’s 2024 National Hydrogen Strategy, which focuses on accelerating clean hydrogen industry growth, the timing couldn’t be better for Trinasolar to introduce our advanced hydrogen solutions to the local market,” said Edison Zhou, Head of Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands for Trinasolar.
“Australia has the potential to lead the world in green hydrogen production, and Trinasolar’s proven technology can play a key role in making that vision a reality.” Australia’s 2024 National Hydrogen Strategy aims to position the country as a global leader in renewable hydrogen, supported by key initiatives like the Hydrogen Production Tax Incentive and Hydrogen Headstart program. Australia targets 1 million tonnes of green hydrogen annually by 2030. Trinasolar’s entry into the market is well timed to contribute to this national push toward renewable hydrogen leadership.
By integrating its hydrogen expertise with its long-standing leadership in solar and energy storage, Trinasolar offers a complete energy solution designed to support Australia’s clean energy transition.
Key Highlights of Trinasolar’s Exhibition at All Energy 2024 include:
Trina Green Hydrogen: Safe, Stable, Sustainable, Systematic and Superior
Trinasolar will showcase its large-scale alkaline hydrogen production equipment, including its flagship the ONE series electrolyzers. These advanced systems boast:
· High energy efficiency with a power consumption of 4.2-4.3 kWh/Nm³, around 10% lower than the industry average.
· Customizable hydrogen production rates of up to 3,000 Nm³/h per unit, offering flexibility for various project sizes.
· Unmatched stability, capable of continuous operation at low loads (30% power) without compromising safety or efficiency, crucial for adapting to fluctuating renewable energy inputs.
· Long operational lifespan, with a design life of 200,000 hours, leveraging advanced diaphragm and electrode technology.
The system ensures safe and reliable hydrogen production by optimizing materials and internal structures to keep the concentration of hydrogen in oxygen well below industry standards, enhancing operational security.
Trina Green Hydrogen’s electrolyzers are key to the company’s integrated “PV- Storage-Hydrogen” solution, which aligns photovoltaic power generation and energy storage systems with hydrogen production to ensure optimal performance and reduce the Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE). This full-suite approach ensures that hydrogen production is not only green but also economically competitive in industrial applications.
Since 2021, Trina Green Hydrogen has been scaling its hydrogen production capabilities, with a 1GW production facility already operational. The company will soon commission a second production base in Yangzhou, China, which will increase its manufacturing capacity to 2.5GW, enabling it to produce up to 500 electrolyzers per year, reinforcing Trinasolar’s ability to meet growing global demand for clean hydrogen.
