Work Detail Solarvest Holdings Berhad has expressed strong support for the 2025 Budget, which aligns with the company’s recommendations for accelerating Malaysia’s clean energy transition. The government’s decision to continue key energy initiatives, including the Green Technology Financing Scheme (GTFS) with a funding allocation of RM1 billion until 2026, underscores its commitment to fostering a robust renewable energy sector. “The 2025 Budget is a significant step forward in solidifying Malaysia’s position as a leader in renewable energy,” said Davis Chong, Executive Director and Group CEO of Solarvest. He highlighted the allocation of over RM300 million under the National Energy Transition Fund (NETR), a substantial increase from RM100 million this year, which is set to enhance the country’s energy landscape. Chong noted the consistently strong demand for solar energy and the importance of extending Net Energy Metering (NEM) until June 2025. This extension will allow clean energy providers, such as Solarvest, to further contribute to the nation’s energy transition. Solarvest has been at the forefront of green hydrogen innovation and demonstrated its commitment to diversifying clean energy projects with the development of Malaysia’s first and largest floating solar farm in 2019. The company looks forward to participating in several upcoming initiatives, including the Kenyir Floating Hybrid Solar Farm and the green hydrogen hub in Terengganu, as well as the remaining 10 NETR flagship projects. Additionally, the budget introduces e-rebates of up to RM70 million to encourage consumers and industries to purchase energy-efficient electrical equipment. This initiative aims to support individuals and businesses in transitioning to clean energy solutions, fostering greater adoption of renewables and delivering long-term benefits for the economy and communities. Solarvest is eager to collaborate with both public and private sectors to further the nation’s sustainability goals.
