Work Detail | Talks with the government focus on fair competition and strengthening resilience of supply chains Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and wind industry representatives have discussed measures ensure a level playing field for the domestic industry. The discussions covered measures to ensure the security of the German energy system and fair competition as well as strengthen the resilience of supply chains. VDMA Power Systems managing director Dennis Rendschmidt said: “To ensure energy supply as a fundamental component of national security, it must be ensured that every single installation in the power grid is fully reliable. “The regulatory system must be strict here. “Relying on certification of individual components is not enough to minimise risks." "For the wind industry in Germany and Europe, it is particularly crucial that a competitive level playing field is maintained and that unfair market interventions can be compensated for. “An EU industrial policy strategy must also take into account location conditions and reliable demand." "The manufacturers and suppliers of wind turbines in Europe can and will continue to deliver in order to achieve the expansion targets. “They can adapt their capacities to an increasing demand. “A reliable market is a prerequisite for investments in sustainable industrial growth." |
