Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann approved the construction of 13,400 kilometers of link roads recently, with an investment of ?2,436.49 crore. Speaking at a meeting, Mann emphasized that these link roads will significantly boost the state’s economic growth.
The state government plans to enhance its link road infrastructure by widening, strengthening, and upgrading rural roads throughout Punjab, according to an official release.
In a separate meeting, Mann reviewed the progress of establishing new medical colleges in the state, urging officials to ensure the projects are completed on time. He noted that construction is underway for medical colleges in SAS Nagar (Mohali), Kapurthala, Sangrur, Hoshiarpur, and Malerkotla. These institutions aim to position Punjab as a hub for medical education, providing substantial benefits to its residents.
Additionally, Mann instructed officials to develop a comprehensive plan to upgrade medical colleges in Amritsar, Faridkot, and Patiala. He also encouraged exploring the feasibility of hiring more super-specialist doctors for government hospitals to enhance healthcare services in the state. |
