According to the latest data from the Central Electricity Authority (CEA), the total renewable energy generation capacity, which includes small and large hydro, biomass, co-generation, and waste-to-energy, has reached an impressive 201,457.91 megawatts (MW).

Renewable Energy Partnership: Rayzon Solar Secures Major Contracts with L&T
In a significant development in the renewable energy sector, Rayzon Solar has announced its collaboration with Indian multinational EPC solutions provider Larsen & Toubro (L&T). This partnership involves the supply of 216 megawatts (MW) of advanced photovoltaic (PV) modules for L&T’s floating solar projects in Panchet, Jharkhand, and Ramagundam, Telangana, as well as a ground-based PV project in Bihar. The PV modules, featuring state-of-the-art monocrystalline bifacial technology, will utilize 550 Wp glass-to-glass design to enhance efficiency, particularly in floating solar applications.
Saatvik Green Energy Limited has been awarded a significant contract by Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited (MAHAGENCO) to supply 200 MW of solar modules across various locations in Maharashtra. The project, valued at approximately Rs 3.02 billion, will feature N-TOPCon 580Wp photovoltaic modules, marking a strategic move towards enhancing the state’s solar energy capacity. This contract follows Saatvik Solar’s January 2024 memorandum of understanding with Enrich Energy for a similar supply of 200 MW of photovoltaic modules.

JSW Energy Signs Major PPA with NTPC for 700 MW Solar Project
JSW Energy Ltd, a subsidiary of the JSW Group, announced on Monday that it has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with state-owned utility NTPC Ltd for the supply of 700 MW of solar power. The agreement stipulates a tariff of ?2.59 (USD 0.031/EUR 0.028) per kWh over 25 years. The solar project, which will be connected via the inter-state transmission system (ISTS) and the state transmission utility (STU), is expected to be commissioned by June 2026. |
