The key date will be next October 23 when it is known which companies are interested in doing these works, which are jointly quoted in an official budget of more than 1,971 million pesos. The construction companies will have 450 calendar days to execute these works that are essential for connectivity in the departments.
The Provincial Urban Pavement Program was launched on July 15. On that occasion, Governor Marcelo Orrego signed a general framework agreement with all the mayors through which 636,500 m2 of pavement will be granted to the 19 departments.
At that time, the governor stressed that “the method is different from previous occasions, where the municipality contributed 100% of the stipulated amount. Now, it will be the province that will make available 100% of the total. This is very important for us. It will probably be different in the future, but we know the need that the municipalities have.”
