Work Detail The plant, currently under construction in the Arequipa region by Inkia Energy, was originally planned to produce 228 MWp. It is expected to be operational by mid-2025. Inkia Energy, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Kallpa, has announced the receipt of environmental approval for the expansion of the photovoltaic plant it is building in the La Joya district, Arequipa region, which will allow it to take the solar project from 228 MWp to 338 MWp. The plant is expected to be fully operational in the second half of 2025, the statement said. This plant was approved in its environmental studies in June 2022. On that occasion, the Peruvian Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM) announced the same for a total of 9 photovoltaic plants and 4 wind power plants, in addition to other electrical projects (transmission lines, substations and rural electrical systems). In March 2023, the project was granted the definitive concession by the MINEM . The statement also explains that there are two adjacent solar projects alongside Sunny, achieved through the signing of power purchase agreements and I-RECs. It states that three projects, Inkia will consolidate the energy of the Solar Hub of Peru, contributing approximately 1 GWp of renewable capacity to the National Interconnected Network from the fourth quarter of 2025.
