DNV, an independent energy expert and assurance specialist, has announced that it participated in August in supporting Atlas Renewable in obtaining 289 million in financing for its BESS del Desierto project, its first independent project of its kind in Chile.
The battery energy storage system, planned to have a capacity of 200 MW / 800 MWh, will be located in the commune of María Elena, Antofagasta region.
According to a statement, “DNV played a central role in the financing process by conducting due diligence on market conditions and assessing the risks of a long-term power purchase agreement.”
"The consultancy also performed battery system optimization and dispatch analysis, which helped secure investment from global financial institutions," the report added.
Last March, it was announced that Atlas had signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Chilean company COPEC, through its energy marketing company EMOAC, for 15 years for BESS del Desierto .
In July of this year, an agreement was announced with Chinas Sungrow to supply the project with the PowerTitan liquid cooling storage system . |
