As part of the Solar Energy for Popular Economies! program, led by the Ministry of Mines and Energy, the Non-Conventional Energy and Efficient Energy Management Fund (Fenoge) is installing solar systems in stores and businesses in towns in the Caribbean region.
In a statement, it is explained that 20 businesses in the town of Santa Marta, in the department of Magdalena, have already benefited. In addition to the small businesses selected in Santa Marta, other municipalities in Magdalena have also joined: three commercial establishments in Ciénaga, three in Fundación and others in Plato, which gives a total of 29 beneficiaries throughout the department who will be able to reduce their electricity bills by up to 50%. In total, solar systems will be installed in 100 establishments in the Colombian Caribbean.
It is reported that in this first stage, 100% of the cost of the installation and the photovoltaic equipment is covered. Participating businesses include shops, bakeries, fast food stands and mechanical workshops, distributed in sectors such as Pescaito, Villa Camila, Bonda, Santa Fe, Simón Bolívar, La Paz, Los Almendros, El Pando, Brisas de la Sierra, Altos de las Delicias, November 11, La Concepción II, Urbanización Rivera del Río, Gaira and Ciudadela 29 de Julio. |
