A CT company seeks a Network Modelling Engineer ASAP.
A Cape Town-based company is looking for a Network Modelling Engineer with strong feasibility experience in wind, solar and Battery Energy Storage System projects.
The responding applicant will need to be ready to dive head-first into challenging and rewarding projects with the company’s client, an international specialist development company currently overseeing a project pipeline with a capacity of over 2.5GW.
Start Date: ASAP
The company needs a motivated Network Modelling Engineer, ready to join a dynamic technical team working on innovative grid projects.
The ideal candidate must bring a strong background in power systems engineering, complemented by experience in greenfield projects.
The enthusiasm for grid design and integration will be instrumental in advancing grid-related projects. With proven experience in utilising the Network Infrastructure Costing Model, RVC Estimation, and Network Modelling, the candidate will effectively enhance and develop models for better network assessment and analysis.
This role offers the opportunity to work on exciting utility-scale solar/wind/BESS projects, gain hands-on experience, and develop skills in grid engineering.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
Master’s degree in electrical engineering, advantageous
Experience Requirements
2+ years’ experience as an electrical engineer in the renewable energy industry
Experience in the project environment working with substations and grid-connection
Embedded knowledge of simulation software such as DIgSILENT, PSSE, PSCAD, and ETAP
A good understanding of South African grid codes, regulations, and standards related to grid connection and operation
Experience with power systems, grid impact, grid code compliance, and transmission planning studies of utility-scale Renewable Energy projects in SA |
