Uttar Pradesh Advances Solar Energy With Major 450 MW Bundelkhand Solar Park Projects
The Uttar Pradesh government has approved solar parks in Bundelkhand, spanning over 1,500 hectares, to boost renewable energy. With an expected capacity of 450 MW, these parks will help the state achieve its goal of 22,000 MW of solar energy by 2026-2027, creating jobs and supporting clean energy initiatives. The land will be leased to private developers for 25 years to promote investment. As of August 2024, Uttar Pradesh’s solar capacity stands at 3,280 MW, contributing to India’s renewable energy targets.
NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) is inviting bids for land and power evacuation for a 1,000 MW solar PV project in Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh. The scope includes securing land near the Mandsaur Pooling Substation, constructing access roads, ensuring grid connectivity, and installing a 33 kV pooling switchgear system. Bidders must meet technical and financial criteria, having completed similar projects. Bids must be submitted by September 11, 2024, with a Bid Security Declaration and Performance Bank Guarantee. NTPC REL reserves the right to cancel the process.

With over 15 years of industry experience as of 31 March 2024, Vikram Solar aims for an IPO comprising fresh issues of shares up to ?1,500 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of up to 17.45 million equity shares by its promoter group. Noida Power Company Limited (NPCL) seeks approval for a 100 MW power sale agreement with SJVN Limited, entered in March 2024, to meet rising power demand and comply with Renewable Purchase Obligations. The agreement involves renewable energy and storage through the Inter-State Transmission System, lasting 25 years. Approved at ?4.38/kWh, the agreement includes a 7 paise/kWh trading margin, reduced to ?0.02/kWh without a secure payment mechanism. The regulatory commission approved the petition and urged NPCL to safeguard consumer interests in future agreements.
