Work Detail Greenzo Energy, India’s sole indigenous alkaline electrolyzer manufacturer, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with RBM Infracon Limited to explore opportunities in the green hydrogen generation market in Gujarat. This partnership aims to establish green hydrogen facilities with a total capacity of 15 MW across Jamnagar, Kutch, and Bhuj, backed by an investment of ?200 crore. Under the terms of the MoU, Greenzo Energy will oversee the design, development, engineering, procurement, and commissioning of the facilities. The comprehensive services will include the deployment of Greenzo’s indigenously developed electrolyzer units, each rated at 5 MW, along with necessary separation, purification, and storage components. The project is set to begin in the fourth quarter of FY 2024-25 and will be implemented in phases over an 18-month period, with Jamnagar being the initial site, followed by Kutch and Bhuj depending on market demand. Sandeep Agarwal, Founder and Managing Director of Greenzo Energy, commented on the collaboration, stating, “This MoU represents a shared vision to accelerate India’s transition from grey to green hydrogen. Our green hydrogen will support industries, especially in refineries where reducing sulfur content and carbon footprints is crucial, while also promoting sustainable agricultural practices in the fertilizer sector.” Jay Bajrang Mani, Chairman and Managing Director of RBM Infracon, added, “This partnership aligns perfectly with our vision for sustainable infrastructure. The 15 MW project is a significant step towards a greener future, promising technological advancement and economic growth in the region.” Greenzo Energy’s unique alkaline electrolyzer, produced at its Sanand facility, is tailored to India’s climate, offering a longer lifespan and the ability to deliver hydrogen at 30 bar pressure, negating the need for additional compressors. The company has also secured a multi-crore contract with Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited (TANGEDCO) for a super-critical thermal power plant and received orders from the government of Oman and a prominent public sector company in Nepal. This collaboration is strategically positioned to enhance India’s role in the global hydrogen economy, facilitating advancements in hydrogen production, storage, transportation, and delivery, and contributing to India’s Net Zero mission.
