Transformers and Rectifiers (India) Ltd experienced a significant surge in its shares following the announcement of a ?565 crore order from Power Grid Corporation of India. In a filing with the stock exchange, the company confirmed the receipt of the order, stating, “Transformers and Rectifiers (India) Limited has secured orders of ?565 crore from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited.”
The order entails the manufacturing of transformers and reactors ranging from 80 MVAr to 500 MVA and for voltage classes of 420 kV to 765 kV. The company expects to deliver these products by the financial year 2025-2026.
In its statement, Transformers and Rectifiers emphasized its commitment to high-quality manufacturing, noting its established reputation as a leading manufacturer of transformers in India. The company specializes in a wide array of high-voltage transformers and related equipment, including Power, Furnace, and Rectifier Transformers.
Among its notable achievements, TRIL designed and manufactured the world’s first 420 kV ester fluid-filled shunt reactor. The company is recognized for its expertise in producing high-voltage transformers, with capabilities extending up to 1200 kV. Its product range includes Power Transformers (58% of revenue), Shunt Reactors (4%), Distribution Transformers (12%), Furnace Transformers (6%), and Rectifier Transformers (5%). With over 16,000 installations in more than 25 countries, TRIL caters to both power transmission and distribution, as well as various industrial applications.
TRIL operates three manufacturing units in Gujarat, boasting a total installed capacity of 37,200 MVA. The company is currently expanding its production capacity by an additional 12,000 MVA, expected to be operational by the third quarter of FY25, with a focus on the renewables and green energy sectors.
Additionally, TRIL manages four wholly-owned subsidiaries and a joint venture, T&R Switchgear Private Limited, enhancing its operational capabilities and market presence. |
