The National Environmental Licensing Authority (ANLA) has also approved the Buenavista Generator Companys connection line to the 220 kV La Virginia substation. The project is located in the department of Risaralda.
The National Environmental Licensing Authority of Colombia (ANLA) has announced the granting of the environmental license to the project called "La Virginia Solar Park (100 MW) and its connection line to the La Virginia 220 kV substation)", which the Buenavista Generator company seeks to develop in the municipalities of Balboa and Pereira, department of Risaralda.
According to a statement, the project involves the installation of more than 218 thousand solar panels, with a generation capacity of 100 MW and a maximum power of 127.88 MWp.
The estimated generation is the annual production of 249,834 MWh in alternating current and 259,509 MWh in direct current.
The statement added that a substation and an electrical connection line will also be built that will carry the generated energy to the 220 kV La Virginia substation, "and that will benefit approximately 120,000 to 150,000 homes in the region," says the statement.
In granting the license, ANLA states that "aspects such as hydrology, fragmentation and ecological connectivity, and the management and monitoring measures contained in the Environmental Management Plan (PMA), which will guarantee the environmental viability of the works, were considered."
The environmental licensing agency claims to have issued authorizations for 26 Non-Conventional Renewable Energy Sources (FNCER) projects, totaling 5,312 MW, and 17 transmission lines. |
