Panasonic and T-Hub have signed an agreement aimed at accelerating the commercialization of Panasonics Nessum High Definition – Power Line Communication (HD-PLC) technology in India. This innovative technology provides a cost-effective solution for data communication over existing electrical wiring, minimizing the need for additional installations in smart spaces. Nessum HD-PLC has already been successfully implemented in various commercial and residential projects across Japan and Europe.
“As India emerges as a global innovation hub, we aim to create opportunities that benefit both Japanese and Indian technology companies by leveraging Panasonic’s advanced Nessum Technology,” said Kotaro Matsuo, Chief Engineer and Marketing Manager at Panasonic Holdings. T-Hub will assist Panasonic in identifying relevant startup partners to facilitate the adoption and commercialization of this technology.
Manish Misra, Chief Innovation Officer at Panasonic Life Solutions India, emphasized the advantages of Nessum HD-PLC, noting its effectiveness in challenging environments such as concrete or metal structures, underground spaces, tunnels, smart cities, and elevators.
To further engage with startups, the two organizations will launch an Innovation Challenge, inviting entries to explore the potential of Nessum HD-PLC technology. T-Hub CEO Mahankali Srinivas Rao announced that the initiative will include roadshows in major cities like Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Hyderabad, culminating in a Demo Day at T-Hub in December 2024, where selected startups will present their solutions for potential collaboration with Panasonic. |
