Trina Solar claims to have developed the world’s first “fully recyclable” 645W PV module with an efficiency of 20.7%. It has manufactured the panel using interlayer separation reagents, chemical etching technology and wet chemical silver extraction technology.
Chinese photovoltaic manufacturer Trina Solar has unveiled what it claims to be “the world’s first fully recycled crystalline silicon module.” The panel has an efficiency of 20.7% and a power output of over 645W.
“The recycled PV module uses n-type TOPCon technology and has a gold-sized design,” the company said in a statement. “[We have] achieved the breakthrough thanks to its self-developed innovative recycling technology, which uses materials such as silicon, chip, aluminum frames and glass recovered from scrap modules.”
The company said its innovative techniques include interlayer separation reagents, chemical etching technology and wet chemical silver extraction technology, but did not provide additional technical details.
Trina Solar has applied for 37 patents in the field of photovoltaic module recycling. |
