The Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Services held the opening of bids for the bidding for the drilling work to provide drinking water to the town of Toledo, in the department of Santa María.
With an official budget of 173,049,592.00 pesos, this project seeks to benefit approximately 6,400 inhabitants of the town.
Currently, Toledo is supplied by wells that are insufficient in times of high demand. Given this situation, the municipality requested the Province to carry out a new well to reinforce the municipal drinking water supply.
This project aims to increase the capacity to extract groundwater and also improve the efficiency of the distribution system.
The new well will be located southeast of the existing one, which will allow the use of the drive pipeline that is already installed up to the general distribution site.
Details of the work
The project involves the execution of a new 140-meter-deep borehole, equipped with a vertical pumping pipeline and submersible pumps designed to pump the required flow. Additionally, a general electrical panel will be installed along with a command and control panel for the management of the submersible pump.
The work will also include the installation of a PVC impulse pipe with its respective drainage chambers, as well as the connection to the existing aqueduct. In addition, the installation of an electrical downpipe will be carried out and the necessary elements will be provided for the transformation from medium to low voltage and the electrical connection.
Finally, new chlorination equipment will be supplied, consisting of a dosing pump, 200-litre reserve tanks, and a command and control panel, which will be installed in a specially designed control and chlorination box.
It should be noted that the execution period contemplated in the tender is 90 days.
The Secretary of Water and Gas Infrastructure, Edgar Castelló; the Secretary of Infrastructure Coordination, Gustavo Brandan; the Mayor of Toledo, Sergio Marín; and the legislator for the department of Santa María, Facundo Torres, were present at the opening ceremony.
