At an event headed by Minister Lisandro Enrico, six financial offers were received to carry out this work that had been halted two years ago, but will be resumed by decision of Governor Maximiliano Pullaro.
The provincial government opened the envelopes with economic offers to carry out the expansion and renovation work of the Helvecia Hospital, in the Garay department. It consists of the reformulation of spaces and functions of the Hospital, with a significant building expansion, in order to achieve a new hospital with more and different sectors for the provision of health care to local residents and the region.
The event was headed by the Minister of Public Works, Lisandro Enrico, together with the president of the Helvecia municipality, María Victoria Weiss Ackerley; the senator for the Garay department, Germán Baumgartner; the Secretary of Public Works, Marcelo Pascualón; from the Ministry of Health, the Secretary of Administration, Guillermo Álvarez; and other officials of the provincial government. In addition to the residents, representatives of the bidding companies were also present at the event.
In this regard, Enrico recalled that this was a project that had been paralyzed since the previous administration: “I remember that when we came at the beginning of the year with the communal president and the senator, everything was stopped; it was very sad to see how things had turned out, with the hospital workers very disappointed. We were coming from 25% inflation in December and a national government that announced that there would be no public works. But this administration understood the need to strengthen health infrastructure. And in this case we managed to put the project out to tender because we cleaned up the provinces accounts, paying debts, making processes transparent and making efficient use of every peso of the people of Santa Fe.”
“I thank the companies that are investing in public works in Santa Fe, because there are no favorites here; this administration of Governor Maximiliano Pullaro works with transparency to pay on time and in the correct manner, that is why we are demanding. In addition, we open and make transparent the competition between companies, to achieve the best possible price in relation to the projected work,” he said.
Teamwork
In turn, Senator Baumgartner said that “this current project is much more ambitious than the previous one, with a new façade and refurbishment, with more infrastructure.” For her part, the communal president of Helvecia, Weiss Ackerley, highlighted: “our governor Maximiliano Pullaro has clear priorities and each action is designed for the people. This work will mean not only a refurbishment but a great expansion that we needed in the town.”
Next, as a representative of the Ministry of Health, Guillermo Álvarez, praised “the work that Minister Silvia Ciancio has been doing, with strong territorial work, hospital by hospital, so that there are improvements, not only in the management of public health and the scope of its programs, but also in terms of hospital infrastructure.”
Details of the new project
The Secretary of Public Works and Habitat, Marcelo Pascualón, explained that “the works consist of a comprehensive work on the hospital, which includes the expansion and conditioning of the X-ray room, admission, radiology, sterilization, administration, accounting, statistics, vaccination, gynecology, Board of Directors, Iapos, a new public health module and a large entrance hall.”
The new guard is also being finished, including a shock room. For the service sector, there will be a machine room, morgue, storage room, laundry room and kitchen, with dependencies and toilets, together with a switchboard room and cryogenic tank storage room, and communication galleries with the Hospital. The area is completed with a service vehicle entrance, with an entrance gate and a maneuvering area.

With an updated official budget of $4.6 billion and a deadline of 420 calendar days, six bidders were presented: Coemyc SA quoted the sum of $6,139,799,098.06; Cocyar SA quoted the sum of $7,099,700,751.75; Panetto Mariano Miguel quoted the sum of $4,462,878,037.49; EFE Construcciones SRL quoted the sum of $6,928,564,801.92; Pirámide Constructora SA quoted the sum of $5,241,323,528.89; Depaoli & Trosce Constructora SRL quoted the sum of $5,545,400,980.35.
