Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for various development projects valued at ?123 crore in Jehanabad district. The initiatives include a panchayat bhavan at Kalpa village, an SC/ST-cum-womens police station, and barracks for women constables, along with additional buildings for the district police.
According to a statement from the Chief Ministers Office (CMO), the inauguration signifies a commitment to enhancing infrastructure and public safety in the region. However, the event was marred by allegations from opposition leaders, who claimed that local MLAs-Kumar Krishna Mohan (RJD) and Ram Bali Singh Yadav (CPI(ML) Liberation)-were barred from attending the function at Kalpa village.
RJD spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwary expressed concern over the exclusion, stating, "Despite repeated attempts, both MLAs were not allowed to reach the venue of the CMs function by security personnel. This is highly undemocratic. People want to know what the CM is trying to hide from the opposition." He further referenced a similar incident involving CPI(ML) Liberation MP Sudama Prasad, who was also prevented from attending a previous inauguration event on September 5.
In a related development, Kumar inspected ongoing construction work on the Patna-Gaya-Dobhi link road near Saristabad village, highlighting the governments focus on improving connectivity and infrastructure across the state. |
