Agreement signed for the construction of the sewage network in the Progreso neighborhood
On behalf of the Municipality of General Villegas, Mayor Eduardo Campana signed this Thursday the agreement for the execution of the sewage network works in the El Progreso neighborhood (north zone and south zone) with the Deputy Administrator of the National Entity for Water and Sanitation Works (ENOHSA), Néstor Álvarez.
“We appreciate the presence of Néstor Álvarez, with whom we have been working all this time on these infrastructure projects that are so important for our city. Thank you for being here to sign this agreement and move forward,” said Mayor Campana.
For his part, Néstor Álvarez considered that “the truth is that sanitation works take a long time and that is the time of management, I want to thank the political coexistence that has allowed us to have worked together for the completion of the work.”
Furthermore, the Manager explained that “the State is investing in water and sanitation and the issue should not be politicized, it has to do with the needs of the people and water and sewage do not look at the political color and in the case of Villegas in particular we know that the problem exists and we are working on two levels, one that has to do with Barrio El Progreso Sur and Norte and also with ABSA in the rescue of pipes in the City and also two perforations with which it is important to highlight the strengthening that we do from the National State to the provincial service provider company.”
“Today we are talking about an investment of 126 million pesos in Villegas, allocated through the Province and the Municipality, and we are obviously open to new neighborhoods that can be accessed to continue expanding networks to reach more neighborhoods in Villegas and the towns of the Party,” added the official.
The event was also attended by the General Manager of Territorial Approach of ENOHSA, Oscar Bitz, the President of the Honorable Deliberative Council, Juan José Tomaselli, the councilors Ignacio García and Sol Fernández and the Secretary of the Cabinet, Marina Justo.
Sewage drain
The project will benefit more than 1,200 residents who will be able to access a basic service and consists of the expansion of the sewage network in the El Progreso neighborhood and includes the sewage distribution networks comprised of Chassaing Este, Las Casuarinas, Los Ceibos and Malvinas Argentinas streets, covering an area of ??9 hectares with 183 connections.
The work will require an investment of $35,938,748.83 ($10,910,638.08 for the southern zone and $25,028,110.75 for the northern zone) and includes 2,480 linear meters of sewage pipe (758 meters for the southern zone and 1,722 meters for the northern zone).
The contracting method for the work will be through a tender carried out by the Ministry of Public Works of the Nation, the Secretariat of Infrastructure and Water Policy and the National Entity for Water and Sanitation Works.
The expected period is 120 days for the southern zone (from November 2021 to March 2022) and 180 days for the northern zone (from November 2021 to May 2022).
Pipes
At the same time, an agreement was signed for the replacement of water and sewage pipes in inland towns for a total investment of $348,080,338 (amount corresponding to works for all municipalities where ABSA is present), which will be financed by ENOHSA (tendered and executed by ABSA).
The project is currently in the ongoing bidding process and the number of pipes to be replaced in the sewage network in order to improve the service in General Villegas is 3,289 meters of pipes.
In addition, 2 new perforations are planned on Diputado Modestino Pizarro Street (corner of Mario Edmundo Ochoa) and the corner of Doctor Isturiz and Luis Campo.
