Tata Power Renewable Energy Secures 400 MW Wind-Solar Hybrid Project In Maharashtra
Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) has announced the successful acquisition of a Letter of Award (LoA) from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL). The contract, awarded through a competitive bidding process on an electronic reverse auction portal, is for the development of a 400 MW Wind-Solar Hybrid project in Maharashtra. The LoA specifies an initial contracted capacity of 200 MW, with an option to increase this by an additional 200 MW, making it the largest renewable energy project undertaken by TPREL in Maharashtra to date.
DGVCL Seeks Tariff Approval For 212 MW Solar Projects Under PM KUSUM-C Scheme In Gujarat
DGVCL petitioned for adopting a tariff from a competitive bidding process for installing 112 solar plants (212 MW) under the PM KUSUM-C Scheme, aiming to power 11 kV feeders through Feeder Level Solarisation (FLS). The bidding occurred in March 2023, with the project executed under the RESCO model. Public notices were issued in April 2024, with no responses. The case was heard on September 10, 2024, with no respondent attendance. The Commission acknowledged completed procedural requirements and is now awaiting a final decision.
Assam Introduces New Draft Guidelines For Group And Virtual Net Metering 2024 To Boost Renewable Energy Adoption
The Assam Electricity Regulatory Commission (AERC) has introduced draft guidelines for Group Net Metering and Virtual Net Metering to promote renewable energy in Assam. Group Net Metering allows surplus energy from a single system to offset multiple connections, while Virtual Net Metering enables shared energy from one system among multiple consumers. Guidelines set the system capacity between 1 kW and 1 MW and require detailed technical studies and network upgrades. Consumers must submit forms and fees for feasibility analysis. Surplus energy will be settled at the average power purchase cost, and pre-March 31, 2024 systems are exempt from certain charges.
Adani Power Secures 6.6 GW Energy Supply Contract with MSEDCL
Adani Power Ltd (APL) has received a Letter of Intent from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd (MSEDCL) to supply a combined 1.6 GW of thermal power and 5 GW of solar power. The award, which totals 6.6 GW of energy, was secured through a competitive bidding process initiated by MSEDCL. Under the tender’s terms, Adani Power was permitted to bid for thermal power in conjunction with solar capacity, the latter of which will be supplied by Adani Green Energy Ltd, a group company.
JSW Neo Energy And Reliance Power Win 1,000 MW SECI Battery Storage Project With Record-Low Tariffs Auction
JSW Neo Energy and Reliance Power have won the auction for the 1,000 MW/2,000 MWh Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) project from SECI in India. JSW Neo Energy secured 500 MW with the lowest tariff of ?3.810 lakh per MW per month, while Reliance Power won another 500 MW with the second-lowest tariff of ?3.8199 lakh per MW per month. These tariffs reflect a significant 65% reduction compared to SECI’s first standalone BESS tender, which was priced at ?10.83 lakh per MW per month.
