Watch this interview with Ridaa Manuel, Battery Plant Manager at the University of the Western Capes Energy Storage Innovation Lab. From the exhibition floor at Enlit Africa, Manuel gave ESI Africa the low down on the exciting technology developments at the University. Within UWC I work for the Energy Storage Innovation Lab. Innovation is what we are know for, with all our prototypes, you can see that is what we specialise in/ explains Manuel. From the mobile UPS system to the battery pack they created for an electric bike to their hydrogen education kit, the Lab can innovate an electric solution. The Lab also doubles up as a production facility that can create lithium-ion cells as well as produce li-ion battery packs. |
