Mayor Taccetta referred to the different steps that have been taken to start important works, such as the water catchment in the Buitreras Stream, the Airport, among others.
The Municipality of Esquel is carrying out various actions in order to start different service works of great importance for the city and which, in turn, will generate new sources of work. Such is the case of the water catchment from Arroyo Buitreras, the Airport, the construction of hotels and progress is being made to obtain the funds to allow the construction of the Legua 7 electrical substation.
Last Tuesday, in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, Mayor Matías Taccetta accompanied the governor of the province, Ignacio Torres, in a meeting with representatives of the National Water and Sanitation Works Entity (ENOHSA), to sign the start of the water catchment works in the Buitreras Stream.
Speaking to the press, the municipal leader confirmed that they intend for the work to begin in the spring “to create jobs”, taking into account how the winter ban affects the area. They are waiting for the environmental impact report to be finalised so that they can begin work.
Along these lines, he said that this is a project that is “very important in terms of the amount, but also the solution to the citys water supply for 20 years.”
He later reported that negotiations had begun with TRANSPA, Aluar and the Futaleufú Hydroelectric Company for the construction of the Legua 7 electrical substation, which involves an investment of 5 million dollars.
The mayor stressed that they are thinking of “important investments for the city,” mentioning that the construction of hotels and inns is already beginning and that the work on the airport will soon be reactivated.
The Esquel airport work will be restarted in January
As for the work on the airport, it is expected to be restarted shortly. The mayor explained that it will be divided into two parts, on the one hand, the modification of the current building and on the other hand the construction of the new one, which will be almost 4 thousand square meters.
