Q Energy has reached financial close of a 74MW floating solar project in France.
The financing for the Les Ilots Blandin scheme is for a total amount of €50.4m, which was arranged by Credit Agricole Transitions & Energies and Bpifrance.
Once completed, the floating solar power plant will be one of the largest of its kind in Europe.
It covers 127 hectares of former gravel pits in Perthes in the Haute-Marne department.
Construction is already well advanced and soon 134,649 solar modules will be mounted on floats for the project.
Pre-commissioning is scheduled for the first quarter of 2025.
"We are very grateful for the trust and commitment of our financial partners in this project," said Q Energy France sales director Ludovic Ferrer.
“Together, we are taking one of the most innovative technologies for clean electricity production to the next level and giving new impetus to renewable energies in France." |
