Another intergovernmental agreement provides for the supply of 60 thousand tons of aviation kerosene per year.
Russian-Mongolian intergovernmental agreements envisage the supply of 1.8-1.9 million tons/year of oil products and 60 thousand tons/year of jet fuel from Russia to Mongolia .
This was reported by the head of the Russian Ministry of Energy S. Tsivilev during the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).
Oil products for Mongolia
Theses from S. Tsivilev:
kerosene - 60 thousand tons/year, petroleum products - 1.8-1.9 million tons/year,
supplies of petroleum products:
supplied by Rosneft and Gazprom Neft,
but we signed an intergovernmental agreement, according to which the governments of the two countries, the energy ministers of the two countries support this work,
it is written down how it will work so that it is mutually beneficial - beneficial for Russia, beneficial for Mongolia,
Russia provides almost 99% of Mongolias gasoline imports , with a slightly smaller share of diesel fuel .
the second agreement is on the supply of kerosene:
a beautiful modern international airport has been built in Mongolia, a constant supply of high-quality aviation fuel is required, 100% of our supplies will be here,
also agreed that it would be mutually beneficial for the parties, divided 60% to 40% in the joint company that would operate there, defined the principles of its work,
We always enter into an agreement with the goal that it will be beneficial for both parties.
Intergovernmental agreements and supplies
During the visit of the President of the Russian Federation V. Putin to Mongolia on September 3, 2024, the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources of Mongolia signed 2 intergovernmental agreements:
on cooperation in the field of oil product supplies,
on providing Mongolia with aviation fuel.
Commenting on cooperation between Russia and Mongolia in the supply of petroleum products, V. Putin noted that in 2023, more than 90% of gasoline and diesel fuel entered the Mongolian market from Russia.
Russia invariably responds to Mongolian requests for assistance in meeting the growing demand for fuel and lubricants, including on preferential terms.
Rosneft is the key player in the supply of petroleum products to Mongolia.
The company has been operating in the Mongolian petroleum product market since 2005 and, as of June 2023, has supplied a total of 13.7 million tons of petroleum products to the country.
In September 2022, the company reached an agreement with the Mongolian leadership on all issues related to the supply of oil and petroleum products, incl. with the supply of aviation fuel to the fuel and refueling complex ( TZK ) of the new Chinggis Khan Airport in Ulaanbaatar.
In June 2023, there were problems with the overstocking of railway tracks in Mongolia, which led to a shortfall in the supply of petroleum products.
Rosneft made up for the shortfall and agreed on compensatory measures in the event of force majeure in the future.
S. Tsivilev recalled:
In 2023, Mongolia experienced major disruptions in fuel supplies and there was a difficult situation within the country,
It was Russia that supported them, quickly transferred the necessary volumes of fuel so that the residents of Mongolia would not suffer,
We were able to resolve this issue together very quickly, the residents didnt even feel anything, although the problem was serious,
i.e. Mongolia understands that Russia is always ready to come to the rescue in a difficult situation |
