Procurement News Notice

PNN 75893
Work Detail Ocean Winds, a joint venture between EDP Renewables and Engie, has received the environmental decision for the transmission infrastructure of its BC-Wind offshore wind farm in Poland. Issued by the Regional Director of Environmental Protection in Gdansk, this decision covers both the offshore and onshore components of the transmission infrastructure. The decision includes the construction of approximately 33 kilometres of submarine cable and about 8 kilometres onshore. Horizontal directional drilling will be used to lay the cables underground without disturbing the shoreline, including the beach area. The transmission infrastructure will connect to the National Power System at the 400 kV Choczewo Substation operated by Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne. Initial onshore construction work is expected to begin in the second half of 2025. The BC-Wind offshore wind farm, located around 23 kilometres north of the shore near Krokowa and Choczewo in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, aims to achieve a planned capacity of up to 500MW, with a total farm area of 90.94 square kilometres.
