During the celebrations of Neuquéns anniversary, Mayor Mariano Gaido will give details of a new public works plan for the city. The first 15 blocks of pavement on Valentina Sur were recently completed and another 35 are expected to be built.
The construction plan will be announced on September 8, the day of the main event for the anniversary, but it is already known that it will be carried out with municipal funds.
"We have the resources to announce more blocks of asphalt, more storm drains and sewers and green spaces for the neighborhoods that need them and development of subdivisions, that is, a program of fundamental works," said Gaido during a tour of paving works.
In Neuquén, different investments were made, such as asphalt in the 140 Viviendas, paving in Valentina Sur Rural, and soon those in Hi.Be.Pa with more paved and storm drain blocks, plus Obrero Argentino Avenue in Confluencia.
On Wednesday there will be inaugurations in Parque Norte, in the sector that has been redeveloped next to the Universidad Nacional del Comahue (UNCo) which contributes to boosting the tourist economy with new illuminated paths, plazas, games, and recreational activities.
On Sunday the 8th, the 3-kilometer-long Avenida Necochea will be inaugurated “which will solve a very serious problem that the west had: we closed the canal and a four-lane avenue was built above it that definitively connects the north and south of the city.” And then, at 2 p.m., the mayor continued, “everyone is invited to celebrate the anniversary with a parade and all the neighborhoods will have the opportunity to learn about this historic asphalt plan that is announced on the day of the anniversary.”
On Thursday, agreements will be signed with the Province and on Friday, the new machinery will be inaugurated to join the fleet of the Municipality of Neuquén, which invested $1.5 billion in trucks and tractors.
In Valentina Sur Rural, the works involve the adaptation of aqueducts and the provision of storm drains and essential service networks. “At this moment we are working on Cuyo Street, in the construction stage of a reinforcement of an aqueduct, and San Ignacio is being paved and Puerto Deseado is already there,” said the Secretary of Infrastructure and Urban Planning, Alejandro Nicola.
These are three fundamental streets because they are part of the COLE system route “and we are very close to starting several blocks in that whole sector,” he said. “Later, we will complete the asphalt of Solalique until reaching the river, Aconcagua Street that will connect Solalique with Bejarano, in order to continue expanding the connectivity possibilities with the new paved trunk roads throughout the south of the city,” he added.
Nicola explained that “on Puerto Deseado Street, the manholes of the sewage system are being leveled “and made with the appropriate concrete, and on the other two streets we have finished all the stormwater and are now moving forward with the installation of two sections of drinking water network, which is a repowering of the connections that go over Cuyo Street by 200 mm and San Ignacio by 160 mm.”
“The ground is being finished for paving in the two sections,” he concluded, while the bidding process for paving another 35 blocks is underway.
