Solartive has been awarded a prestigious contract under the PM Kusum Yojana by the Jharkhand Renewable Energy Development Agency (JREDA) to supply solar pumps to farmers across Jharkhand. The project, valued at approximately ?48.8 crore including GST, is set to transform the state’s agricultural sector by offering sustainable and efficient irrigation solutions.
The letter of award from JREDA authorizes Solartive to design, manufacture, supply, transport, install, test, and commission solar water pumping systems (SWPS) on a turnkey basis. This initiative falls under Component-B of the PM-KUSUM Scheme, Phase III, aimed at improving irrigation infrastructure in various districts across Jharkhand.
The project addresses key irrigation challenges faced by farmers, particularly in remote areas with unreliable electricity access. By leveraging solar technology, Solartive will provide farmers with a reliable and consistent water supply for irrigation, potentially increasing agricultural productivity and reducing dependence on conventional power sources. This shift is expected to lead to substantial cost savings for farmers.
The implementation of solar pumps is anticipated to bring significant positive changes to Jharkhand’s agriculture sector. Enhanced irrigation facilities will enable farmers to diversify crops, boost yields, and extend growing seasons.
