They plan to build the Dignity Building where the tent is located
This was part of the topics that Mayor Martín Perez discussed at the meeting he held with members of the Board of Directors of the "Malvinas Argentinas" War Veterans Center. The meeting aimed to jointly outline the projects for 2024. "The central objective is to strengthen ourselves as the National Capital of the Vigil and to accompany our veterans in the activities that strengthen our cause," said Perez.
The Mayor and representatives of the Board of Directors of the "Malvinas Argentinas" War Veterans Center held a meeting to begin outlining what the 2024 agenda will be.
Silvina Mónaco, Secretary of Public Works, also participated in the meeting, and its main focus was to work on the preparations for the previous weeks and the Vigil of April 2, as well as what will be the construction of the new building for the Dignity Tent.
In this regard, Mayor Martín Perez emphasized that, as every year, "we reaffirm our commitment to the Malvinas cause, with the commemoration of a new anniversary, and with a date as important for all Rio Grande residents as the April 2 Vigil. Especially because it is the National Capital of the Vigil."
Perez stressed that “continuing to strengthen our city as the city of sovereignty is one of our main objectives in this new administration.”
"In the next four years we will continue to strengthen the presence of Río Grande as a Malvinas city and defender of our sovereignty," he stressed.
Regarding the construction of the Dignity Tent, Silvina Monaco said that “the construction of this place will allow us to have a permanent physical space to carry out activities related to the Malvinas Cause throughout the year.”
Monaco explained that during the summer, "an important work will be carried out prior to the construction of the tent, which is the relocation of an essential gas pipeline that passes through the stands where it will be located."
Along these lines, he stressed that this is a "fundamental and necessary task, which will be completed this season, in order to move forward with what will be the construction of the Dignity Tent."
"The building will be approximately 800 square meters," said the official, who celebrated the fact that "this new place will allow us to receive not only the people of Rio Grande but also those who come from other parts of the country to pay tribute to the Malvinas veterans."
